Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Overview
CineSphere is a movie and TV discovery platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.
Data Stored Locally On Your Device
The following data is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage and is never sent to our servers:
- Your watchlist (titles, status, ratings, notes)
- Viewing history and episode progress
- Content preferences (genres, languages, platforms)
- Content trigger filters and emotional safety settings
- Taste profile and veto settings
- Filter presets and personalisation settings
- Session timer data and break reminder settings
- Community ratings and reviews
Clearing your browser data or using a different browser/device will remove this data. We recommend regular exports via the watchlist export function.
Analytics (Consent Required)
If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect:
- Page views and session duration
- Device type and browser
- Approximate geographic region (city-level only)
- Interactions with filters, watchlist, and recommendations
IP addresses are anonymised. No personally identifiable information is collected. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy.
See Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle analytics data.
Advertising (Consent Required)
If you accept analytics, we may display ads via Google AdSense and/or Adcash. These services may set advertising cookies to show relevant ads. You can opt out via your browser's ad settings or by declining consent.
CineSphere does not sell personal data to advertisers. We use contextual advertising only.
TMDB Attribution
Movie and TV metadata is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB) under their terms of use. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB. TMDB data is subject to TMDB's privacy policy.
JustWatch Attribution
Streaming availability information is referenced via JustWatch. CineSphere is not affiliated with JustWatch. Availability data is sourced from TMDB watch providers and manually curated data.
Third-Party Services
Disqus (Comments)
If you consent to analytics and scroll to the comments section on a detail page, Disqus embeds are loaded. Disqus has its own privacy policy. Comments are loaded lazily and only after consent.
Tally.so (Forms)
The Community page embeds Tally forms for tip sharing and title suggestions. Tally has its own privacy policy. Forms are only loaded when you navigate to those tabs.
Cloudflare Turnstile (Bot Protection)
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our API from automated abuse. Turnstile is privacy-preserving and does not track users across sites. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Content Disclaimer
CineSphere does not host any video content. CineSphere is a discovery and recommendation platform. All "Watch Now" links direct you to third-party streaming platforms. You must have your own active subscriptions with those services.
Availability varies by country and date. Always confirm streaming availability on the platform before subscribing. CineSphere accepts no liability for inaccurate or outdated availability information.
No copyright infringement. CineSphere links to legally licensed streaming content only and does not facilitate access to pirated content.
Cookies
CineSphere uses the following storage mechanisms:
- localStorage — all user preferences and watchlist data (no expiry, stays on device)
- sessionStorage — session-specific data (cleared on tab close)
- Google Analytics cookies — analytics tracking (only after consent)
- Advertising cookies — interest-based advertising (only after consent)
No cookies are set before you give consent. Declining consent disables all analytics and advertising cookies.
Your Rights

Children's Privacy
CineSphere is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Family Mode is provided for family viewing contexts only and does not constitute a children's service.
Data Security
All data transit is over HTTPS (TLS). Cloudflare Workers and Pages provide DDoS protection and edge security. No passwords or payment information are collected by CineSphere.
